The Lord is calling us to sacrificial devotion. Just as the woman poured out the alabaster jar of costly perfume, so are we to pour out all we are and all we have to Him. The kingdom is like a treasure hidden in the field, and a pearl of great price, and so we too must fully sold out to it. There is a divine exchange. Obedience is greater than sacrifice, but the place of full obedience will be a sacrifice. Count the cost and be willing to pay the price.
